Around 200-300 from a breeder and 400 from a store. Ive seen some for less then 200 but not so nice.

Nippy as babies...they settle down if handled...price varies depending on quality...hope that helps

I beg to differ Bartman...I have a super nice JCP that my g/f bought for under $200...Hmm...makes me think though what other conditions were involved in the purchase?? Haha *LOL*

Thanks and what is the average size for adults. I would appreicate it if you guys could post some pics. Sorry for all the ?'s but what is a good size cage for them and what is the best way to give them something to climb on either a branch or a plastic thing across the center.
Thanks agian for all the help.
they are about 5-7 feet as adults but quite slender so they don't look huge. A 4x2x2 is great for adults but it will take a couple or few years to get to that size. Awesome snakes when set up natural style with real branches. Heres a couple pics of one of my breeder males I'l try and get some female pics up later.

Well of course if you have hook ups or find a good deal by luck, but that goes for everything. Im just saying the average price you're looking at

Ugly ones will be cheaper, and ones from ugly parents will be cheaper. They live 20-plus years, so yes, you can save 50 bucks and get an animal that browns out at year 2, or you can spend a little more and get an intense yellow animal that you'll never get bored of. :P
But shop around. If you're patient enough, you'll be able to find a great deal for a great snake from a great breeder. The difference between $200 and $250 isn't all that much money-wise. But you'll find that the difference in the snake's appearance in that price range will be HUGE.
And the looks of your baby will further affect its marketability. You might find it hard to find an outlet for babies from bland parents. They aren't hard to breed, so the competition can be fierce.
Best of luck! :)

That's not a bad Jungle. Its young, so it doesn't have its yellow yet (they don't often get their yellow until 6-months to a year of age. I'd get pics of the parents. When I buy a Jungle, I'm more interested in the parents.
Tough to find a non-yellow baby Jungle at this time of year. Might be a runt. Tough to say. Ask the breeder.

So is that just an ugly baby or does it looked like it could have been crossed with something and what is a baby like that worth.( the one pictured above)

They told me that they are 5months old and he is feeding them mouse hoppers. He said that he will get pics of the adults for me soon.Edit : so are all jungles ugly (no yellow) when baby's.

I've hatched close to 400, and I've never had one hatch out with any yellow.

Ok thanks I guess i'll wait to see pics of the adult female. They sent me pics of the male, he doesn't look the greatest but not that bad either. What is the chances of the babies turning out nice if the male doesn't have that much yellow but the female looks good when I get the pics.

Hey Jeff, do you think they will grow if we start pumping em up? Or would they possibly/probably be stunted? Thanks.

No, they take off whether they are started slow or not. They always seem to catch up! Its great that way!
I find that the female has more affect on the clutch, but its no real science. I've just noticed babies look more like the Mom.
Best of luck!!!!!!!

Thanks jeff now just waiting for pics.
I know very little about JCPs but I read this thread and then I was surfing around and found this site:
http://www.jaguarpython.com/2002/HypoJaguar/hypo.htm
I know that it is not a JCP but it illustrates the dramatic colour changes that can occur with age. It is just unreal!!!

Here is an example of color change in one of my jungles over a years time.

And another who changed drastically in just a couple of months. Out of the 15 carpets I am raising this was by far the quickest color transformation.

Some stay that way, others lighten to a canary yellow or white color and some muddy to a brownish yellow.

Those are some of the nicest carpets that I have ever seen, That is just amazing. Thanks for sharing Ben.
I have actually decided to hold off on carpets for now the parents didn't look the greatest. But in a year or more or less I will definitly look into them again. So that I have enough to get an awesome one like Ben Nickelson's, Thanks agian everybody for your help and Ben I hope your carpet stays that intense yellow for you. Best of luck.
