Hi,
My 2 females were offered superworms tonight for the frist time. They didn't eat them, they didnt seem to even like the smell. Does this sound common to anyone else? My 7 month old male ate 2 so he likes them. Could it possibly be because the females are getting ready to lay? I think I can see egg outlines!

If they are getting ready to lay that could be it,maybe they just dont like them, maybe they thought the worms were too big,did they jerk their heads back and stare down at it(what they usualy would do before they strike) or did they just totally ignore them, maybe they just werent hungry?

Yea I know I had 1 male that did not like any mealworms of any kind/size, I have 3 females that eat only kingworms, and I have 2 other I have not fed them to yet because they are too small still. My 5 larger adults love them, and so did 5 other I sold off a while back. It's hit and miss, so try to offer them a few more times. If your male likes them I would get him a small supply to give him 1 or 2 after crickets.

hey mikey, did you try superworms or mealworms?
Most of my geckos don't care for mealies since they don't move much but they all go for supers. I've found with leos they're big on prey that moves around abit.
the other thing is if they were superworms make sure they aren't too big, none of my leos but one will take supers past a certain size
