Jeff mentioned that if a Ball is "cruising" it probably will not eat. What is the snake doing while cruising? Anything in particular? I ask because I thought if it was cruising it was probably hungry and looking. Anyways just a meaningless question to satisfy my curiosity.
Any other ball behaviors and meaning would be cool to hear too.
Thanks

Mine only cruise if they're horny hence the term cruising for chicks.
Sometimes they'll cruise around while they're shedding to help the shed come of, but usually the just do circles in their hide.
They also cruise if they want out of the aquarium and into a rubbermaid! : )
I have yet to have a ball feed while cruising as well.

my pastel has been in constant cruise mode for the past month or so, hence the not eating i guess.
Some seem to cruise around when hungry. I believe Jeff meant a vast majority adopt the "hunting" behaviour when they are really ready to eat, rather than cruise around looking for food. :D
All mine sit and wait. They cruise around after cage cleaning, or shedding lots though.

Probably looking for ladies, or stressed and wants to get out of there. What's he housed in?

You know they must be Het for Stange, yea that's it, how much can I get for a Het for Stange Ball python? I guess I have a 1/4 chance of producing a Strange Ball python :p
My corn cruises only when he's hungry. My ball does it only after a change to his viv, or after I clean it (but he'll do it for a couple days straight). He'll often sometimes cruise around the morning after he eats.
Yesterday morning (wed) he was sitting in one of his hides, head out, in S position, but he just ate on monday. He stayed in that position for the whole day, then moved to another hide.
Obviously, I can't read him just yet as I have no idea what this means... lol

LOL! :D You got it! As far as price value, I'm not sure, that would be up to you I guess, since you would be the first to produce Strange ball pythons! :D

hmm, i think mine is het for strange as well. Perhaps we could breed em, ;)
Mine cruises every Sunday Night and only then. I always assumed that was because Monday is feeding day.
Also, mine could give a doo-doo less how i feed it. I literally let it thaw, warm it up a lil more in some hot water and throw it in and hits it almost instantly. Doesnt matter if its nighttime, daytime, dark, lights blazing, alone, people all watching. Nothing seems to faze this snake. Guess i just got lucky.
Jeremy
