I am new to this whole breeding thingand I kneed help! I have recently bought a small group of sht leo's 1.3 group the problem is the male is a fair bit bigger than the fems. OK he is quite a BIGGER! I belive he was from a previous clutch. Is it safe to rotate him with the little ladys or should I wait untill the are the same size? I guess what I am asking is that age old question "Does size realy matter?"

Size doesn't really matter since most males are bigger than females. However, if he's OLDER, then it might matter. The girls should be at least 10 months old and over 40 grams, but better yet older than a year (I prefer to wait until they're at least 18 months) and over 50 grams to leave a safety margin.

Yea I am waiting with some of my females uintil they are larger too, even tho they are about 10-11 months. I don't have a scale (I need to buy one soon) so I go by how fat and healthy their tails are and how long they are. I won't breed them till they hit at least 8" and are nice and bulked up.
