Ignoring the fact I look like a complete Git in this pic, Here are two of my Afrocks, both of which, as you can see have great dispositions. Which really is the point of the photo.

If that is what a Git looks like, then I don't want to see one!

I also have that picture of you holding Queen, and she didn't bite you either. I can post it if you wish, I think you sucked in your gut for that one too.

As long as it's not in profile that would be good Ryan, thanks. And Cindy, thanks for the ego boost, but I think you need to get out more. lol. :)

No DJN, quite the opposite. They are extremey manageable. Showing that CBB offspring do not necessarily to posess the brutal nature of their WC parents. nor deserve the rap the Afrocks have for being mean.

Ahh, I just thought I caught a hint of scarcasm thats all. I totally agree the two I have are my 3 and 4th ones and I've had nothing but luck with rock pythons. I think they are just like any other large pythons.

I've been lucky too. All my afrocks so far were tame and i have yet to meet a mean afrock.

I would like to point out that everytime a breeder SELECTS specific parents he's conditioning evolution as well (even if contained for the moment).
It's good that we are starting to have tame afrocks, but aren't OUR domestic afrocks becoming a tame mutation of the wild ones? they are lacking the "defensive" factor and it shows from birth so it's genetic.
One day, if wild afrocks go extinct, we can't say our captive specimens are representants of python sebae sebae.

Yes but you nust also say that of corns snakes of all kinds and any colour morph of any snake because they are generaly not wild phenotypes because they wouldn't last long.

Very right.
Selective breeding is good for the hooby, but ends up mocking nature's work.

(this is just an observation. I don't have a problem with it :) )

Actually I would disagree to some extent. While selectively breeding docile animals will increase your odds of docility in the young, there are devinately other factors involved. My 'rocks are from two of the nasties animals I'd ever seen and really wasn't initially eager to take them. The Sire would attack the glass if you were within 5 feet of the cage. As such he was kept covered up entirely. And the Dame was no treat either. So the disposition of my animals is not due to genetics, but nurturing vs. nature..
