I needed an excuse to take pictures...

I noticed that my older BRB, as a neonate had dark brown eyes, and my little BRB Marty has these stunning silver eyes...

Older female as a neonate:

His eyes are my favourite thing about him... I'll throw in some pictures of my baby Venezuelan Cecilia too, she's got really warm-looking brown eyes (along with an attitude):

Does anyone else have rainbows with cool eyes? Do they ever change as they get older, and have any of you who've bred them noticed if eye colour is genetic or anything like that?

Thanks for looking :D

I know that Robert Seib in California breeds "white eye" BRBs- so it is genetic. Here's a link.

Marty has awesome eyes Heather, you're right! :D I'm pretty sure that both of mine had/have eyes more like your female's... I would think that his eyes will stay the colour that they are now -- I don't remember mine's eyes changing at all as they grew.

Great pics... and beautiful rainbows of course ;)
