I already know their care needs and that they can be hissy, but do any of you "Afrock" owners have any quick tips for me before my Python arrives here tomorrow?
Thanks :)

Yea thats deffinetly the biggest thing. Its hard to keep a big python, but VERY hard to keep an aggressive python.
Good luck with yours!

Thanks guys! :D
Yeah I'm HOPING I will be able to "tame" it before it is too big to handle...I don't want some 14' monster trying to eat my face!

Oh and just FYI, it is a male thats why I said 14' instead of 20'. ;)

lol
They can be pretty high strung, like everyone has said. I found that a good pair of ski gloves will go along way when getting an Afrock used to being handled. They do calm down nicely if you put the time into them.
When they are small they are uh voiders if ya know what I mean they like to poop on you when handled. So I guess the best advice is to handle it often and feed it lots.

LOL...Hey man I'm getting a female Burm next month...I'm no whimp! :p
Your right for not power feeding it slipknot, I see no reson to power feed any snake they will get big soon enough trust me, my bigger male afrock is at the 5 foot mark and he is only 7 months old. There is no need to rush him especially if your not planing to breed him. Also the long term health concerns of power feeding have not yet been full explored.

Yeah all I hear is the cons of power-feeding...the only "pro" I guess is getting a bigger snake, but if I wanted a bigger one I would've just gotten a female. ;)
