I must leave the hobby. my mom got mad at me, and I have to sell all my herps/inverts. Check out my ad in the for sale section. Sorry, I must leave. After the three short years in keeping herps/inverts, and the three short months I have been on here. I may be able to stay, It is just very unlikely. I will be around here for a while more, but thanks for answering my questions, and being here. Hope I can stay, though :)

Your mom got mad at you and now you have to get rid of everything you've had for 3 yr? Sounds kind of ludicrous to me. I hope you can find new homes for everyone.

I have been working, and I am one step closer to keeping them... I have had her agree with me on one of the reasons she is making me get rid of them (I am spening most of my money on them...) She will now agree it is my money, and she cant tell me what to do with it... hope I can stay, 1/5 chance now.... Still pretty slim... I will stick around, though! :)

I'm sorry!! :( I hope that you can stay in the herpin' buisness!
If worse comes to worst, can friends or other family members (different household) keep them for you so that you can get them back at a later date? My grandfather used to keep my snakes for me because my mom just couldn't deal with my little legless friends.
Starting over would be heartbreaking, it's hard to give up your scaly friends entirely.

Thanks guys, for all your support. fotunately, my mom is (i belive, this is what she said, but she could change this at any second, because "she's the parent" lol) letting me keep reptiles/inverts. I cant get any snakes though, my mom doesn't like em. I can always get a legless lizard, she doesn't know about those ;)
thanks again, I *may* have to leave, but now it is a 4/5 i will not leave the hobby, but I will always stick around these forums (unless the forums blow up).
thanks,
Dan Conner
Great news, nouserpif!! Hope she continues to support your hobby. I can readily remember those days when my mom thought I spent too much time and money on my animals, and now ALL my time and money seem to go to my animals, lol!
Nothing changes, yet somehow nothing stays the same....

i too live at home and my parents do not like this hobby although my mother is warming up to Fox, my yearling Gray Rat. she despises Caesar my boa because two minutes after i brought him home she looked in the cage and he looked up at her and jumped and snapped haha. I'm looking into an arboreal which took many days of nagging and deliberation( spelling?). to have the arboreal I'm going to have to contribute to the elctric bill. any suggestions on arboreals? anyone?
