Housing different breeds together

In the past I have had a BP and a Red Tail in the same enclosure. They seemed to be very happy together. The only thing was that I had to feed them separately, the Red Tail being so much more aggressive.

Now my kids have a couple of corn snakes and I was thinking of getting a BP. Is there any reasons or problems housing corns and BPs together?

well if you can convince the animals that they don't actually need their specific husbandry requirments, then I guess it would be ok...

Your biggest problem will be the fact that the husbandry requirements of a corn snake are no where near that of a Ball python.

Also keeping 2 snakes in the same cage of the same species is usually a bad idea let alone of different species. There are no proven added benefits to keeping snakes in the same cage, all of your animals should be housed in their own cage and if you don't have the room to house them all separately you shouldn't have them.

OMG!!!That is a crazy pic!!! I didnt know a BCI(?) would eat another snake!! Not to mention the BP looks bigger than it!

As mentioned, there is NO reason to house snakes together, let alone snakes of different species...there are tons why not to however.

Do you not realize that both snakes have COMPLETELY different heat/humidity environments?? One is from Africa and is a burrowing snake, the other is from South America. There is NO way you can adequately meet both their needs in one enclosure... it's just lazy and cheap to do it that way, and definitley not in the best interest of the snake(s)...

An extra rubbermaid is like...8$... That beats the two vet bills you pay when one snake gets sick, causing the other to get sick as well...doesn't it???

That's just the ball and boa... balls and corns have such a different size difference, it's all around just a BAD idea...

Please take all this info into consideration and seperate them...think of the snakes :)
