It is a sad day here for I woke to look at all my reptiles and then moved into the snake room which from at quick visual everyone looked quite fine.

A phone call from the exgirlfriend looking in on them at 6:30 am told me that one of my bccs has past on. I drove home to the body of a 6 month old bcc bloated really bad with head swelling something that I have never seen before. He ate monday night like usual. Ate well with a pinky rabbit, and a small mouse. Tuesday morning woke to striker regurging. Then this morning dead at the bottom of the cage.

Now would a parasite he was born with cause this or what? His cage temps were 87 c in the hot side to 82 c in the cool side. It baffles me he was doing so well then this.

thanks for reading,
Rick

if your cage really was 87c, that might be an answer as to why this happened.. I'm hoping that's a typo and you mean, 87ºF..

Soory yes 87 F. Talked to Tim from Wild Kingdom and he figures it is sudden death syndrome. He has seen my set ups and could not see anything wrong.

On a better notw I received a great deal on a dum. female to go along with my male. Had to sell acouple of beardies but all in all they weill make a great pair. They are not even related which is great cause his colors are weild.

Thanks all,
Rick

Swollen head sounds like an allergic reaction to me. He probably died of anaphylaxis.

At 87c. the snake would not only be dead, but ready to serve, hehe.
(Sorry man, not trying to be funny about your loss).

Hope you have better luck next time.
