Wow she is even better than I imagined- will post pics soon. What i want to know is how soon till I handle her. Tried to handle her but after a long drive and flight she must have been scared already s no wonder she struck at me. What did everyone do, just take the bites or what? very excited here!

I've handled mu new JCP a few times and he hasn't struck at me yet...sure he gets territorial when I first try to grab him, but once he is out of his enclosure, he is fine. I am sure my time will come though...I was bit the other day for the first time by my Spotted Python and I have had him for about 10 months now.

Well its about 18 inches now and really fiesty but I have left it alone and let it get used to its surroundings. Looks really nice. I would say big enough to take hoppers. i don't know if it is a python thing or what but compared to corns they have a much larger head compared to that of the body. These guys would be able to take quite large prey because of that.

I'm no expert, but that is usually the traight of a JCP...the head being so big compaired to the neck of the snake. That is one of the first things that attracted me to them. Second, I have been told that you should judge the size of it's prey by the size of it's body...not the size of it's head. I think that 1 to 1.5 times wider than the body is rule of thumb no? Someone plz correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!

Yeah, same girth or 1.5x the girth of the snake is the general rule. Eevery 5-10 days. However, Jungles do have the ability of taking surprisingly large prey items as compared to body size, when compared to...oh say.........a Ball. Basically, if they'll take it...give it, within' reason of course. I'd say I'm no expert either however. Also, about the head size thing........yes, Jungle heads are proportionally quite large as compared to their neck or rest of body. Males more so than females..much more so.
