This is our pair of Mahogany kings, (peninsular intergrades) produced by Crimsonking aka Mark Kenderdine. We purchased these beauties a couple years ago and to our knowledge the only mahoganies in Canada.

The male is the prettier of the two (as those of you with floridas may have noticed males are always better looking).

This is him as a wee baby!

And now him as a drop dead gorgeous stud.

Amazing how much he has lightened up and the YELLOW he has become!

Floridas and p. intergrades have such cute little faces.

What sets mahogs apart from others is their rich brownish redish colouration in the blotches. Hopefully Mark will post pics of his adults.

Oh, yeah, the pics just aren't showing the right colour, he is intensely yellow, but his blotches are darker than the pics show.

Tried to get better pics, but these animals are ten times better in natural light. The flash on my son's camera I haven't figured yet, so washes out the redder tones. W/o flash isn't right either under flourescents. Oh well, you can get the idea.
They're ready now, but I'm waiting another week 'til I get 'em pumped up to breed. One more "cold snap" (for here) tomorrow anyway.

You've seen him before, I think. Still doesn't show the reddish/brown like I'd like..
