OK, so I don't trust anyone to care for my beloved cresties for a whole week while I am on vacation and yet toting several large heavy glass aquariums is out of the question. So any suggestions? anyone know how to build a habitat that could house 2.1.2 cresteds comfortably for a week in as compact a space as possible? or does this need to be invented, patented and marketed? seriously, what is the smallest space a single crestie could handle for a week? I may need to build a travel container.

I can't offer any advice on a container...

However, I went on a 9-day vacation over xmas and left most of my herps (excluding the chameleon and pacman, which I left with my friend Kate) at home. The cresties were left with dishes of water, some extra crickets and crested gecko diet (only in the non-kritter keeper enclosures as I find if I leave it in those too long it can go mouldy).

The only extra thing I did was have the person who came over to feed the cat mist the geckos once and a while...

I came back and everyone was fine and happy (they told me so), and I think it you take the appropriate measures they'd be fine for a week... just my experience/opinion :)

Good luck.

well i appreciate your input and I'm sure there wasn't a minute you didn't think about the little buggers and wonder if they were ok. i know when i go over night i can't wait to get home to check on them. anyways i think i will enjoy my trip better if they are with me, like i said, i don't have anyone i trust to even come and mist them.....sigh....

Well bring some kritter keepers with you on vacation but while you're doing the commuting put them in well ventilated deli cups with some sphagnum moss (to hide under), and then place them in a well insulated secure box so they don't bounce around with the bumps you get while in the car. Once you get to where your going set up the cages and that's that. Hopefully this will work for you if not get an auto mister on a timer and leave em home, if they need to get rid of the extra crickets in the cage they can climb and just leave crested gecko diet for them. :)
