Well....
Annette was over this fine evening and one of the big female emeralds was out of her coil, sitting there watching us... I had just fed her the night before.. Nett says " I wonder if she would try to bite if you put your hand in the cage.."
Well, in what I would describe as a blonde moment, I thought.. "well she usually will just sniff my hand and then move on.. she won't bite" ;) yeah right...
the pic says it all...
So the moral of the story is keep your bloody hands out of an emerald's cage at night...

Has anyone asked you yet, what were you thinking?lol
I'm all about learning from others mistakes so thanks for sharing Rob!
Cheers,

How badly did you hurt her?:( Most folks would have an instinct of jerking the hand away. Is she going to have to "gum" her food for a while? BTW, how much Molsen was involved? :D

I thank you Rob for this great example of an emerald bite!! We all have one more reason not to mess around ETBs!! Silly bird-eating snake!!
I hope you learned your lesson emeralds should not be played with after a day of feeding thats why she most likely bite you leave her alone next time after she eats.

ROB:
Hmmmmmm that much experience between you and Nett on ETBs and a "newbie" mistake happens, wow.
If it was a newbie who wrote they got bit in same manner people be throwing their opinions against the newbie, tsk tsk.
Oh well.

Never said I wasn' t bitten. But I can say never by a ETB, baby JCPs and an adult Blood yes. Baby JCPs its rather normal more a defensive thing, the Blood was in shed and on the opposite side of the cage, thought I could get the water bowl and refresh it, never seen it strike before but that time was a weird moment. But I can say this never bitten during feeding or 24 hours after :D
Tony
EDIT:
My Emeralds I can lay the food on them and they react after on the food from the tongs. I would not disturb them at night before or after a meal in any case.

Must have resulted in memory loss...

I guess it's okay since he can remember the details of when he's been bitten but it may be a future excuse for some selective memory.
Here we go again...
Looks like the "CIRCLE" is in top form again today...
BTW... Trevor.. I was holding myself back from commenting earlier... but screw it... here goes: your lack of class in the thread about Tony being attacked says allot about your character.. or lack there of...
Anyhow... I suggest we try not to let this get out of hand... and maybe act like grown ups?

What can I say I'm honest and up front and I call them like I see them. I sent you more in a PM.
Cheers,
Trevor
TONY
I just thought you calling it a newbie thing was wierd
I don`t think you can call it a newbie thing - I think it has to do with the repile in question
That was his snake and his call to make - its like - lets say I had an etb and it never stuck out at me after its meal and than one day down the road it did bite me - after a meal - would that really be a newbie mistake? Or just bad timing?
Its just like how you say that , that snake never stuck before - and low and behold it did one day -
You call that a weird moment - I just wonder why what happened to you is a weird moment but what happend to another person is a newbie mistake
EDIT:
for spelling!

YDNIC:
I understand that, my comment is more an over view of how people reply to certain things and situations. I did not want to go into it so I made it short and I guess its misunderstood, but that is fine. In simple awhile back I was dictated how to feed a baby ETB like as I was new to ETBs yet I raised 5 from baby or subadults way before Nett thought to say what she said. It was my fault I did not get a photo to show what I had said in feeding the baby ETB. In the end all my ETBs are doing great and thriving. But since an expert thought to down talk me as alot of newbies do get this from "experts" I decided to show even the experts do things just like newbies but seem to get that added respect, yet nembies get talked down too :D
Maybe this explains it maybe it does not, but in the end Rob agreed with me about Nett going over board, but nothing was said. So its funny how people pick when to say something and others choose to avoid getting involved. I hope Rob is ok and I hope the ETB is fine, but I made an observation that newbies see all the time and get drilled for and we all should remember we were all newbies once before as well, yet some of us think we can forget where we started.
Just my 2 cents, take it as I wrote it or don' t it doesn' t really matter.

Tony,
The time and place to act is when you see a newbie getting picked on and doesn't deserve it. Not in a post where there are no newbies involved. Would have saved a whole page of explaining and re-explaining. Your intentions were noble but misplaced.
Cheers,
Trevor

EVERYONE:
To make this real easy I will post this photo. You' ll notice how easy it is to not reply to members if you wish not too, funny how I can do it yet others can' t. :D

Tony you CLEARLY brought this one on YOURSELF.
Shadow before knocking the fake "circle" you bring up why not look at Tonys first post in this thread knocking the people who started it? Stop defending people who don't need your defense.
I am closing this now. Tony, your comments were not needed. Trevor, and others, your comments were also not needed at all.
CLOSED - I am really sorry to the thread starter.
Marisa
One thing to add.....(sorry should have included this before)
If this doesnt stop now people will simply be banned.
That includes Tony.
That includes the people attacking Tony and bringing up stuff from other threads.
That also includes people who have nothing to do with either side (as there is a LONG history there you are NOT involved in) but CONSTANTLY egg it on with remarks like people being in a "circle" and other comments I have seen.
PERIOD. One more time and I just don't care, gone. Doesn't matter who it is.
Again that goes for ALL involved in this thread and the others. ALL. EVERYONE. Sorry if I don't repeat myself I'll get crying whining pm's from everyone pointing fingers at the other side, as if we don't all have jobs and herp care to give us something better to do.
Marisa
