View Full Version : help
this is my jcp, he eats great ,is very active and healthy. he just shed a coulpe of weeks ago and it was a good shed, it all came of in one peice. my question is that this spot is white ,the scales are normal but no coloration?has anyone ever seen this or can give me some insight as to what it is ,it reminds me of lets say your hair going gray from age. when i touch it it doesnt seem to hurt him and again his scales are normal. now i couldnt get a good pic of it cause of the flash.
thank you for any help

ps, it cant be a burn becasue i have no heat source in his tank
because it is always 80 or so upstairs(my father in law keeps turning it up to 80 so i didnt put his pad on when we moved him upstairs. i also mist him and keep his water bowl filled.

While I can't help you with that spot, I would recommend putting that heat back in... snakes need a choice between a cool end and a hot end, to thermoregulate and keep them digesting healthily...

It's snake pee. It is really hard to tell from the pics what it is. I bet after a shed it will go away but if not I would take it to a vet..
ok i will now he just did shed about 2 weeks ago (i noticed it a few days after that.
so you think snake pee may have "bleached "that spot?

If your jungle sat in his pee for long enough it could cause a burn. If he is acting fine and the mark stays the same size I would wait for another shed to see if it gets better.
ok thank you very much
and yes hes acting normal,as a matter of fact hes acting freindleir than ever he actually went to my hubby and crawled up him and sat on his shoulders for a long while last nite
