Well tonight I got a call from someone I didn't know saying they just purchased a Pictus gecko two days ago offline and it wasn't looking good and asked if I could help. So I said sure found out their address and went over there. When I got there its spine was sticking out about an inch, you could count every rib had multiple kinks in the tail and the eyes were sunkin in so badly it looked like a skeleton. The mouth was wide open and it was as limp as a twizler. I picked the poor guy up and he just slumped over in my hand. I wasn't even sure it was alive until it started twitching like crazy so I put it back down and he rolled to his back and just twitched and twitched for 10 minutes. I've never seen anything like it :( I asked the guy where he got it from and he showed me the receipt and box and he got it just two days ago. He had a beautiful set up ready for it after quarantine and I felt so bad for him and the gecko. I called the 24 hour vet and he said the best thing was to bring it in for euthanization, the problem there is it is a 2 1/2 hr trip and I didn't think it would make it more than a half an hour. So I introduced the poor gecko to my Co2 chamber, and he slept in seconds.

Feeling sorry for the guy I asked him to tell me what he knew about Pictus Geckos and their care. He seemed very knowledgeable and then showed me he own a group of 3 female leos who looked extremely great he said he had them for the better part of 4 years. So I went home and returned an hour later (after much thinking) and presented him with my male het for Xanthic pictus gecko. I guess my pictus project will have to wait. I just felt it was only right to do this being the good christian I am I felt his pain and the fact he paid 75.00 shipped for an extremely ill gecko. Needless to say this guy has not answered his emails or anything and if I ever go to Utah I'll have to look this scum up and how he likes being treated like that poor pictus he obviously couldn't care for.

Sorry for the long post just wanted to let you guys know about the scummy people that plague this hobby at times :-/ I'm very depressed for the fact I saw such a site and had to euthanize it myself. Something I never wanted to do

Thanks guy, I was feeling quite sad about what had to be done and giving my lil guy away but in a way it does make me feel good about myself too. Stopped one from suffering and helped another person out...There's my good deed for the year j/k I try and do what I can just thinking back on it I'm glad I could do both those things.

haha just realize I put deed. I realized I need to start checking for spelling errors on this forum. Looking back I look quite uneducated because of my spelling mistakes. *Makes a note to self to stop spelling like a first grader*
