Im having difficulty finding extensive care sheets on Draco volan. theres the one on centralpets.com and one a guy had on kingsnake.com but other than that there seems to be nothing. if anyone could help out it would be greatly appreciated. Would thier care be similar to other agama species?

heres what i have so far
humidity 75% with daily mistings
daytime temperature 80 - 85 degrees
nighttime drop of 10 degreees
basking spot 90 - 95 degrees
food crickets, superworms etc possibly even ants
well planted terrarium

the cage im building is 36"W x 36"H x 24"D i think that should be sufficent for a small colony

I couldn't find much on Draco Volan.. but there's a ton of information on flying draco's ... did you possibly mix up the names? maybe i just never heard of that one though..

Hi,

I've heard of Draco volans. A colourful, small, arboreal lizard from south east Asia. I've never kept them, but from what I understand they survive on a diet of ants in the wild. To escape predators they will glide from tree to tree. Other than this I don't know much, as I've never seen one live (in captivity). But from what I know of their natural history they don't seem like good candidates for caging.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help,
Jason

I have also read in many books that these aren't very good lizards in captivity b/c they eat ants. To bad though b/c there awesome lizards.

P.S - All of the ones available in canada are W.C imports.

i realize that they are all wc and am prepared for the fact, and yes as part of the insurance policy i have on my home i must ,and i stress that, innoculate every imported animal that comes to me, wouldnt matter if it was a mouse or a parrot. and as for thier diet it may be hard but im willing to try it.

oh and for those wondering how to get insured for reptiles, large snakes, exotics of any kind really it seems you have to label yourself as a petstore even if you run it from your home.
