I didn't used to keep one in with my female. I just dusted her prey items. But recently I decided to throw a dish in there with some calcium powder....and later that night she was there lapping it up. Since she used it, and has again, I am keeping it with all my geckos just as "extra" But I also only dust crickets every couple times. Too much or too little are both bad! :D :D

Same here. My female tanks has a calcium dish, while the males get dusted food every 2nd feeding.

I use bottle caps of Ca (actually Miner-all I) in all leo and fattie tanks, and see them licking it regularly. It doesn't take them long to lick enough, so chances are it's more coincidence that you catch them doing it. Even babies get a lid in their enclosures. For them, I dust their food regularly, but around 4-5 weeks I'll see the Ca getting used more often, so I cut back on the dusting. By around two and a half or 3 months they are on self-serve most of the time, dusting only once a week. Adults who I know are helping themselves don't get any dusted food. Once a week or so I'll mix in a pinch of vitamins as well.

Yup, all my leos and fatties get a dish of it. I dust once a week with it and a vitamin and they are good to go. It's especially important if you use a lot of mealies or king worms, since they are much higher in phosphorus than crickets.:)

I always use a calcium dish. A small shallow bowl of MinerAll I in all leo cages.

i use rep cal in a 100ml dish, put in some cal, 200 mealworms and change it every 2-3 weeks

Everyone gets a calcium dish here. Some never use it some do. Basically I just sprinkle a little on one side of the feeding dish and they take it as needed.

I also dust once or twice a week with a multivitamin on top of that.
