i saw a great little black and white california king today. if i was looking into buying one i need to know a bit first. what is their maximum growth size on average? what are their temperments usually like? what does their climate have to be like ? so on and so forth. thanks .

you're looking at a maximum of about 4'. it is one of the more common captive kingsnakes. The temperment is like any other kingsnake, the more you handle them the less nervous they are with being handled.

Temperature should be between 80 and 85 F. Your snake will probably like a substrate that it can burrow in (such as aspen shavings, cypress mulch, pine needles).

Humidity should be moderate. For an adult you don't need all that high a cage, but neonates and juveniles like to climb.
