Read some caresheets, especially if you're going to be getting into chameleons. They are a challenge, and research is a MUST.
Chris Anderson posted this link: http://www.chameleonnews.com/year2003/july2003/cohabitation/cohabitation.html
It'd be best to read it. If you can't afford two cages, don't get two chams. Chameleons get stressed quite easily, I can't imagine keeping two together when they freak out the way they do when you place a mirror infront of him...

Chams need a lot of personal space, elbow room, whatever you want to call it. They don't like roommates, no sharing the cage, heck they'd prefer not to even share the world (that saying 'get off the Earth, it's MY planet' is really a cham quote :) ) Unless you have something approaching room size, you'd be stressing your chams out too much by expecting them to live happily ever after with a room mate of any kind. The exceptions would be the terrestrial chams, but even they have limits. Unless it's for a short stint for mating, the large arboreal species don't get along with each other.

In the nicest way possible Benny, you remind me of another guy I know named Benny (a small world) here in Ottawa who bought on impule and ended up not buying a UV bulb and the cham died in 6 weeks. You seem to want to rush this purchase. Take a month, do the proper research and when you feel as though you know everything there is to know for a beginner, then take another month and research some more before buying.

i reasearched for 3 and im still kicking myself in the a$$ for buying one so soon... i didnt realise how much of a challenge it actually is... there very "mean" creatures.. and not to forgiving about houseing.. heck a leo you can keep on anything in anything, but even just one houseing mistake means for a really ticked off chameleon...
the way i look at it is if you get and are successful with one, then you can think of housing another, still in a different cage, but one at a time is WAY more than enough to start....
k thanks guys, and no offens bak but im not rushing, i mean resreching for like 1 1/2 months now and i stumbled ont hsi four like 2 weeks ago, but thanks guys

good luck..

I don't know why I keep hearing that chams are a challenge. I have kept mine since he was 3 months old and that was in Feb. of 2002.
Then again I only made 10$ a month and the cham costed 89.99$, and I reasearched every night after school till I got the cham..lol

I say they're a challenge because they're weird little creatures. They are not forgiving of husbandry mistakes and hide illnesses very well. I spend more time with my chameleons than any other herp I have. I'm STILL reading caresheets, especially when something new happens... right now I'm waiting for my female to lay eggs, she looks like she swallowed a nerf football. I've been reading caresheets like mad for the past 2 days :p
I'm not saying people shouldn't get into chameleons, I love them and want everyone who will also love them to have one too...I just want them to take care of them properly is all :)

Once you're actually ready to find a breeder, check out that BOI link I gave you at www.faunaclassifieds.com ... I'm not too familiar with American chameleon breeders, sorry :(
But that site will give you a good idea of who is and who is not trustworthy, and you can ask if anyone's ever had a good or bad deal with a breeder of your choosing.
Good luck!
k thanks, your so kind to us novices =)
im readding them care sheets and i got soem good ideas of what to do now
(better ones any ways)

LOL I'm still a novice myself :p
The BOI is a completely different site and forum, you'll have to make a new account to post there, but not to read the forums themselves.
