View Full Version : A New Iguana
Went to the pet store today, I purchased an amazing 2 foot green iguana which is in perfect condition for $5.99! I had to get him, hes brilliant. I have him in a tank to him self, he is very tame suprisingly... Anyone have any name suggestions?

An import?
I am not sure, he seems rather calm to be an import.

Why would they still import Ig's?

Mine's name is Rex..
He may be rather nervous at the time, this may be why he is calm.
RIKI:
do u have any pics?, still disgusting to see pet stores selling such high demanding creatures for so cheap. At least it went to a good home though opposed to some impulstic buyer with $5.99 to spare.
It probably came from an igauna farm or whatever you call them, I don't think thier many breeders who actually work with them, with all the adopties out thier and what not.
Cheers
Kayla
The tank was nearly full of them and they had more coming in so they dropped the price, he is so large for a tiny price I could not just leave this amazing creature in such poor conditions. Hes doing great now, eating, climbing, and much more :)

Just wait untill he gwts bigger... Then you can say ouch..lol
I know what you mean, lol.
Rikki,
Cool!... congrats on the new addition!
Post some pics will ya !! :D
When i get my new cam I will, old one isnt working >.<
My suggestion is be careful around him when it's that special time of year whre the males get even more agressive then usual.
ya also let him settle in before attempting to handle him or whatever you did to get yourself tail whipped
Edited for bad grammer and spelling lol

awsome your so lucky your rents are giving you a whole room for your iggy, I begged and begged mine but It seems I will have to just share my room lol oh well.
Best of luck with him
Hey everyone, just an update. He is doing great! That tame iguana I used to know has really gotten used to the place, he not so tame any more, gives me tail lashes constantly, lol. He rearanges his cage daily, throwing dirt every where, digs up his water dish, nocks over his food and everything. Hes nearly finished with his first shed as of today :)

Ha ha Sounds like he has steaked a claim to that tank and tresspassers will be swiftly lashed :) Good to hear hes doin good tho.
Thanks, he is eating like crazy, never seen anything like it! Hes chosen to make a cave under his heat pad under the substrate now, lol.
