I have been breeding mice for a while now to feed my corns. I am now buying a jungle carpet python so would like to switch to rats.
If my small corns are eating large fuzzies to small hoppers will baby rats be too big?
Would this also be a viable option or just to carry on breeding mice and buy rats?
How many rats would I need?
I currently have three corn snakes and a new jungle on the way.
many thanks
i have had rats before i ever had snakes and the size of a fuzzy is about the size of a 2 week old rat so i think if u r going to switch then u should freeze the young for your corn and let some grow for your python this is what i think would work best if u do switch

the jungle is eating well and a young juvenile. Since I will only be breeding two corns at the end of this year I will probably just buy the pinks before selling off the babies but buy enough to ensure that they are eating properly. I probably wont need that many rats so i might keep 1.5 mice as well. what size tub would 1.5 rats need or 1.3

Jungles are not easy to switch onto rats.... some never do.
If breeding the mice is going well for you, stick with it!

2 week old rats are MUCH bigger than a fuzzy mouse. New born or day old rats are about the size of fuzzy mice. 2-3 week old rats are the size of adult mice to jumbo mice... at least mine are.

well if i am going to have to switch and all my snakes can take some form of rat it would probably be better to start now. I will probably keep the mice for a bit in case its really hard to switch the jcp to rats.
