Hey all, thought it would be neat if we could see some of everyones enclosures. Looking to build another cage and looking to see what everone uses and how they have them setup. Here are mine. Lets see yours!

WOW really cool cages... how do u keep the humidity up in the emmy cage? its pretty big :)fff

Hey Shadow, was pretty hard until i recently purchased Zoo Meds Habba Mist. Outstanding automatic misting machine and the price cant be beat in my opinion.

All of my cages are set up so my snakes can thermoregulate both vertically and horozontally. Your branches look like they need to be set up more horozonatally. I would also seal the cage by covering it with contact paper.

Trevor, i am assuming your talking about the amazon tree boa enclosures( first picture). Thought that would be enough horizontal branches for them but now that i look there isnt much of a perfect horizontal branch like on the emeralds enclosure. I will add some this weekend.
I sealed all three cages with polyurethane, and a good coat at that. Should i still cover the whole cage with this contact paper?

Hey Jason, nice enclosures, only problem I thought of was what Trevor said. As for the polyurethane I have no idea. Also, the Habba mist I would have to disagree with. I bought one a couple weeks ago and returned it with 2 hours. I could gleek a better mist then that thing could. I would personally rather buy a misting machine for reptiles off the net for a bit more and run multiple nozzles off it, up to a dozen and a bit I think. Just my two cents. Nice emmy :P

Our ATB's were haing incomplete sheds till we added a humidifier to the cage, it is on a timer of course :)

Yeah your right the cages in the bottom pics are set up just like I was talking about. I would still go with the contact paper for two reasons, you can get it in sheds of green and you can scrub it down and wash it and it holds up very well. It adds and extra layer of protecion between the humidity in your cage and the wood. All of my wooden cages no matter how they are fisinshed will be covered in it, even malemine cages.

My ATB enclosure is set up in a similar way to the large ETB cage in the first post in the fact that it is tall and heated from above. Other than that the inside setup is much different. The problem i have run into is that no matter how much i mist the tank or use a humidifier the area in the top corner of the enclosure where i have a branch for basking by the lamp is always dry. This is obviously because of the overhead heat source. Do you have the same problem with your tank and how can i fix it. I have even enclosed the lamp on top of the tank thinking that by closing it in i could eliminate transfer of moisture. Because of the higher temp on that spot i can't keep humidity there. I don't see a way around it, if there is a basking spot it will be dry. Is it ok for the basking spot to have lower humidity as long as the rest of the tank in humid? And the enclosure is made of Melamine.

BOA68, the over head lamp will dry the spot it is nearest and the air. Not sure how to prevent that, have the same problem. Although it is not much of a problem, just one tiny part of the cage that is dry while the rest of my cage is in good shape. To keep the humidity up i got the Habba Mist but as Ptindy said and i later learned it sucked like all hell. I now built my own and it works well, should have pictures soon but here is the link that i touched up on a bit to make it cheaper. MISTER (http://iguanaden.com/housing/mister.htm)
