Well I was just wondering if it's painful to get bit my a 30 inch BCI? He's done alot of hissing etc when I go to change his water I think it's because he's in shed but recently he opened his mouth at me but never struck. And when I pet him he quiets right down but I don't pick him up while he's shedding. Not that I'm worried about it, if I get bit I Get bit. can't compare to other pain I've endured non herp related just wondering what everyone elses experience with being bit is. By the way I'll have some new pics up after the shed cant wait to see what he looks like, maybe some more pink will come in *shrugs*

painfull not at all i wouldnt worry about him biting you its not bad i mean i have felt worst pains before, i get bit by snakes at work all the time but hell i still have to take em out of their cage and feed them all every week plus clean and change water every day, after acouple times youll get use to it dont worry it happens so fast you wont realize what the snake had did

WAY worse...dog teeth leave ripped up skin and a very messy bite. Snake teeth are so sharp they go in and how extremely cleanly. The only anoying part is its so clean it doesnt stop bleeding for a bit.

haha you're telling me, I had a 2" by 2" chunk missing from my arm and the skink was just hanging down, not to mention a dozen other holes. That bled forever too. My medication thickens my blood though so I don't bleed as much as other now a days.

Being bitten by smaller boas (6' and under) is mainly shock value. It happens so fast you don't really feel it too much, but as mentioned, you end up bleeding for quite some time :eb:

I have just been recently bitten by a 4.5 footer. I barely felt it initially, but the next couple of days my finger, the bone itself was sore as sh*t. I have been bitten by another 4.5 footer on the fleshy part of my arm and it was virtually pain free. Basically, just try not to get bit in the face and you'll be fine!

I've not yet been bitten, and I'm not expecting it to really hurt when it happens...but it certainly can be intimidating (at least to me) when snakes are striking at you. :)

A snake strike doesn't bother me as much as when my monitor first started going after me way back when. That mouth is more intimidating than any snake mouth to me. But I learned not to get bit but fast lizards so my next task it to learn not to get bit by snakes either but I saw how fast he struck his dead prey and coiled around it. Sweetest thing I've ever seen but I don't think I'd have a chance :)
