My Jayapura female ovulating. Looks like I'll get eggs in a few weeks......good or bad. This is the first SCZ outcross I've done, so I'm excited to see what turns up. I just hope I get some fertile eggs.

Breeding started in early Nov. 04.

I noticed follicles growing in mid-late Dec. and I captured these ovulation photos tonight.

She really looks like she's pushing in this pic. Notice the skin fold near the tail.

This is a long term captive female that was imported in April of 2001. I've had her since about 3-4 weeks after being imported and she's been a pleasure ever since. I named her Sweetie because of her calm nature.

Thanks for looking.

Best of luck with her! Are you going to incubate with or without medium?
Cheers,

Thanks Tony.

Thanks Trevor. I'm going to use perlite substrate. I've experimented with the no substrate method and it hasn't worked well for me. I've found that even in 100% humidity, unless the egg box is just right, the eggs will dry quickly and begin to colapse. I've had good success with perlite. I'd rather use course grade vermiculite, but I haven't been able to find it for years. Time to fire up the incubator.

Sounds cool. If my turn ever comes I'll be trying the Greg Maxwell method he describes in his book.
Good luck,
Trevor

She's a beautiful girl -- best of luck with the eggs, I'm sure there'll be some awesome babies popping out of them in a few months! :)
