Thought this was pretty neat and the pics came out pretty good, so I decided to post..

I dropped some CGD in all the cages tonight and this is what took place in the hatchling cage.. I had no idea where the babies were as this cage is full of corkbark and pothos.. As soon as the containers entered the cage, this is what took place..

Off in the background, I noticed this..

This one was just hamming it up for the camera, so, here's some more..

And last but not least.. (sorry, had to post the large pic, cause I think it looks best that way.. )

LOL they have table manners worse than me! You're lucky, mine usually wait until the lights are out and I'm not looking. The one that's hanging from above has a REALLY nice pattern :D

Nice pics Matt!

Great shots!
They all look nice and healthy.
That tiger's pattern looks awesome!

I've been looking around for a digicam for a while. So far everyone's been talking about the powershot A85. What do you have?

I'm using the Kodak Easyshare DX4330. I don't think anyone is carrying it anymore.. It's a simple camera to use, i've enjoyed it, but am in the market for a new one..

cool pics! so what is that you are feeding them?

Matt_K

It's Crested Gecko Diet (CGD) mixed with a bit of Babyfood and some Calcium sprinkled in. They get this a couple times a week and the rest of the time, they get crickets..

The table manners suggest "male" :)

I've heard rumours that spreading CGD on your scalp helps grow bushy eyelashes.....

(Great pictures, Matt)

excellent photos............. It makes me so jealous as we hand feed our cresties nightly and when I looked at your pictures, I think my cresties are going to be finding their own food starting .............tomorrow.

I hand feed mine on occasion, but that's just to make sure they're all getting some.. The rest of the time, i just put cap fulls in and in the morning, it's usually gone..

Thanks everyone for the kind words, once get I get my new lenses for my camera, i'll see if i cant get some nicer pics.. :D

Sweet pics Matt! Is there any way around live food, or crickets anyway? I know live is best but if you can't get them can they go with just the CGD diet and maybe some mealies?
Cheers,
Trevor

In theory, the CGD is a complete diet, nothing else need be added. I use it as part of a mixed diet, never seem to trust just one food no matter how much they like it.
A lot of people do use just the CGD, or the gargoyle and leachianus equivalent, so it's possible to omit the bugs if you don't want them around the house.

Just recently I have made the switch to an all CGD with my adults. Once in a while i'll toss in a few crix. However I use more crix than CGD with babies.

I could use CGD and only CGD with all of my cresties, but watching them pounce on crickets is half the fun of keeping them :D

Yes this is very true. This is why I didn't omit them completely. :)

How long did it take your adults to fully switch over? It would be nice to see all my adults dishes licked clean. They seem to love crickets more then an all fruit diet perhapsd it's a captive trait because the insects are available for the picking. While in the wild fruit would be easier to come by. I'm going to try it with the males but for my females I'm going to stick with a variety diet. Do you mix your cgd with babyfood or is it plain? In a single serving how much do you offer your adults?

I made the switch cold turkey. I just leave it plain. Right now im using water bottle caps as feeding dishes. Some eat all while others eat half and so on. I don't intend on breeding any females this year so thats why I have decided to make the switch now and see how long it would take before the eat it all up.
