Custom Cage (pictures)

Here are a couple pics of the custom cage I am building for a pair of BP's. It measures 40"x33"x15" (lxwxh).

This is from a top view, you probably can't see it but there is plexi on top. The entire top comes off so I can get inside of the viv. We still need to get locks for it.

This is the front, instead of making vents I just made a full side of screen.

It is definately not done, but I am not getting the BP's until March so I have a while to finish it.

Do you plan on keeping the 2 ball pythons together all the time or just for breeding??

This is not a good setup for BPs on many levels. For one, you should never house them together unless it's breeding time. They do stress each other out, and a stressed BP is a hunger strike waiting to happen.

For another, the screen at the side will make it VERY hard, if not impossible, to maintain the humidity levels they require. I'm not saying it's a bad cage - it would be great for something like a corn snake. Just not a very good idea for BPs.

I am only going to use it for breeding, when it is not breeding season they will be going in rubbermaids. About the screen, I realized that after I stapled it down so I plan on putting a piece of plexi over 2/3 of it.
