She is a survivor of a RI. At 4 or 5 months old she developed RI, the vet had me injecting her with antibiotics and force feeding. She recovered perfectly. She is not very trusting after all that trouble but is still very nice. I will be getting her a 36'x24'x36' tank this april from glasscages. Anyone familiar with eco system tanks? I want to put stuff in it to look like a natural setting but that I won't go crazy with maintainance. I know that I need a pump for the water to help keep it from going stagnant. And I have a phylidondria that I have housed next to her for the past year (I know there are no pests in it.

I took that pic right after she shed. I was in her tank cleaning and getting all the shed out. She like to shed in that soak bowl so the shed is all gooy and brakes apart. She was so nicely posing that I didn't finish cleaning before taking the pic.

Oh wait I just read that again. Were you asking about the orchad moss? Or the piece of shed from her head?

I think she is beautiful i am thinking of purchasing one but i will have to wait a while and convince my parents do they have a good temper or does that depend on the owner?

I have heard of mean ones and I have heard of very nice ones. Chestnut is not the nicest but when she was about 5months she developed RI and had to be given injections of antibiotics once every 3 days for 2 1/2 months and was force feed with a tube 3 times. So she is a little edgy

Twiggy, Most are pretty easy going, babies are real nippy but they don't hurt when they bite. I have even had WC that tamed down real well. Now as sure as i write this I'll get bitten lol but I have an adult WC Trinidad female that has never tried to bite. My last 2 WC were BRBs and the male took a swipe at me once, more of a warming then a bite he just had his mouth open and didn't grab hold. Was the day I got him and he was in shed.

Now I've been bitten by rainbows but no more often then any other Boas or Pythons I've had and less then most.

Wow, what else could be said but beautiful. Umm... I have a question what's RI? You see i haven't purchased my own Brazilian Rainbow Boa yet, but i am by September. And i'm trying to learn and ask as many questions as i can before i do. :w

RI = Respiratory Infection...

In Brazilians it can be caused by lack of humidity.
