BP cage

I thought i would spice up my ball pythons cage by adding some plants to it something jungley... for lighting I have a 100 watt reptile heat lamp. what type of plant would take that type of heat? and Iam useing some sort of play sand. Thanks for your help Oliver

Dont keep your BP on sand with a heat lamp, it's not a desert animal... Use fake plants if you need to "make it more jungley"

well i do do ues fake plants i wanted to use someting more realistic and sand is good from my nolage

Wow.. Have you read any caresheets on Ball Pythons???

How extensive exactly is your knowledge? How long have you been working with Ball Pythons and exactly how long have you been reading about them??

There is a GREAT thread posted at the TOP of the Ball Python forum.. I think you should give it a read..

thats true....sand..ballpythons?:S.....i use soil....it looks nice feels good for the snake and it keeps in humidity

I actually considered this for awhile-

would the soil not promote ickies by being too wet? (bacteria etc) and how do you make sure the soil has no mites etc in it?

I assume you're using soil without any manure in it?

I've considered Peat moss as well...

Man, I feel so sorry for that ball python it's not even funny.

If you're going to use soil, make sure it's not potting soil with additives like perlite and fertilizers. Buy it brand new from the store in order to assure it being sterile.

I'll stick with my paper towels though :)
