There have been quite a few posts about the size of tanks for jungle carpets but what is the general rule or size of tank and size of snakes?

Hatchling = snake size = tank size
Juvenile = snake size = tank size
sub-adult= snake size = tank size
adult= snake size = tank size
large adult = snake size = tank size

the other thing is with jungles are one or two wooden poles across the tank alright or should you really try and put a branch in?

One more thing, with building my final tank what can I use to colour melamine black inside and out?

thanks a lot

Well...what I have set up so far for the JCP that I am purchasing is your normal rubbermaid and my tank set up when he is an adult is a tank that is 3' L x 2' H x 1.5' W and you have to make sure that the tank holds in moisture/humidity pretty good or be prepaired to mist your JCP alot. I have made a slide-on topper that covers 3/4 of the screen on the top of the lid and it holds humidity in the tank very well. Hope that helps a little bit.

Oh...and I don't think the snake will mind what it has to climb on...it is more of a look thing goin' on...off course a branch of some sort will look more realistic...but to the snake...I am sure it will be happy with whatever it has...from my experience anyways.
