Just wondering if it is too late to start the brumation cycle for my Cali kings? If not how big of a container and what bedding should I use they are about 4foot male and 4.5-5foot for the female and both in good health.

thanks

As long as you can get them cool enough for two months you should be fine. You'll be about a month off from everyone else but that shouldn't matter to your snakes. Just make sure there is no food left in them before cooling them and that they have the weight they'll need to get through.
I would use a large shoe box rubbermaid with paper towel and a heavy ceramic water dish, one they can't tip. I also place them inside styros to help keep temps constant. Alos it's a good idea to place a digital thermometer with a remote probe in there to so that you can constantly monitor the temps.
Cheers,

I'm using a modified bar fridge for the cooling, seems to work pretty good, I can keep the temp anywhere I want between 60 and 40, probably go around the 55 mark. will paper towel be enough, I know I've heard some people putting like 4-6inches of mulch in a rubbermaid for them.

Why wouldn't it be enough and what is the mulch going to do except be cold and damp. You don't want them damp while they are in brumation. If you want substrate go with aspen or alpha or bata chip.

No its not too late. I'd use Aspen as has been suggested (I go 3-4 inches deep myself). Also you say container, it should be containers as they should be seperate during brumation. Mark
