max. size for Bci enclosure

I have an enclosure measuring 5 1/2' x 4' x 4'. I used to keep Bearded Dragons in it. I don't really want to break it down because it's built into the wall of a room. Do you think it would stress out my Bci if I kept it in there? I could put some nice sized branches and a few hides inside to make him feel a little more secure.

Depending on how big he was, if he was near full grown or at least over 3 feet id say thats totally fine. I personally think any size enclosure, even if its said to be "way" to big, is fine as long as you put lots of branches, hides, and most importantly many visual barriers.

That enclosure is fine. Unlike Ball Pythons, Boas do not stress as easily for the most part and large enclosures aren't a problem. There was a post about this same topic months ago that i can't think of off hand, but its floating around somewhere. As long as you have a couple hides for the little guy he'll be fine. The more room the better. However if you are still worried about is being too large think about putting a temporary divider in the tank. A peice of plywood or something to divide the tank into a smaller area until the snake is larger.

Snakes aren't born in to small boxes, the only reason we keep them in more minimal setups is that they are more practical. They are easier to monitor the animals, keep them clean, secure, etc. IMHO the only reason a cage is too big is that it is too big for us to successfully meet the needs of both our snake and us at the same time ;)
