Has anyone put two differnt snakes in the same cage?I just put my red-tailed boa in with my bp and they seem to be doing quite well.My bp has never been as active at night than now.Would they live in the same cage for good?

very bad idea

the only time it is ok to house 2 snakes together is for breeding

now is a ball python the same as a boa?
do they come from the same place in the world?
if you answered no to any of those 2 questions then you have your answer

It would be in the best intrest of your snakes to seperate them immediatly. Ball pythons are nutorios for being poor feeders and the stress of having the boa with him might cause him to stop feeding. Not to mention the other dozens of possible health problems.

Not only are they from entirely different places (Africa and South America) but they both have different requirements in captivity. They both cannot be adequately cared for together, at least ONE of them won't get the proper temps/humidity etc....

I wrote this yesterday:

No, it's not a good idea. There are sooo many reasons not to put two snakes in one tank, and not a single good reason to keep them together.

1. King snakes ARE cannibalistic, they can and probably will eat each other.

2. If one gets sick, they both get sick. That means two vet bills, twice the cost.

3. If one poops or regurgitates you won't know whose it is.

4. Snakes are solitary animals, having two together can lead to stress and competition for food, leading to more stress, which can lead to or make them more susceptable to illness, and that takes you back to the two vet bills idea.

And so on...and so on...

Seperating them would be your best bet. And extra Rubbermaid or encloser is much cheaper than two vet bills :)
