here is a couple pics of my maroon bellied conure. He/she is a great talker and very tame however he/she hates my girlfriend and tries to bite her any chance it gets. I also have an Alexandrine Parakeet who will talk for hours but I have no idea what she is saying.http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/4163peanut2-med.jpg http://www.ssnakess.com/photopost/data/500/4163peanut-med.jpg
Girlfriends come and go,but,a bird will always be your friend. If however you choose the lady instead, shoot me a pm and I may take him/her if that's what you'd like. I have a cockatiel and he's great. Likes you to rub his head. Good luck with your bird...John...Richmond Hill

I use to have a two Budgies, and a male Cockatiel.
I would love to get another bird/parrot...but would probably go with something like a conure or such. I LOVE Nanday conures...big...pretty..just loud as all hell.

Those are some beautiful birds, Paul. One day I would love to an eclectus. What are their temperments like? what type of conure are those they look like a Pyrrhuras but I dont know which one.
Storts I dont think I will ever be getting rid Peanut, My girlfriend has learned to adapt. thanks for the offer anyway.
Chris
I have a budgie named Petie, who turned out to be a girl. Man what a female dog! Always lunging to peck me, but she is sooo cute! I just keep having to work with her. She spends hours chirping to her mirror and bobbing her head, and chewing on my fingers.
I fell inlove with a black lory at PJ's once, the bird and I just clicked. Horrible thing was I didn't have 1000$ for him... but some day I would love to have a parrot like that,or maroon bellied conure or quaker. ;)
We have a Green Cheek Conure (my avatar). "He" is pretty good, likes to chew (bite) on toes though! LOL I think he talks sometimes but I don't know what he's saying.
Hi everyone
I have 2 Blue & Gold Macaws and had a African grey, a Green wing Macaw and like alot of people my first was a Blue Budgie.

I used to have a peach faced love bird. He was such a nice bird. I loved him sooooooo much but we had to give him away cause my mom is allergic, but I have seen no improvement....

When I was a kid my mom and grandma always kept Budgies, my grandma bought hers at a garage sale for $10.00 with the cage and it was 10 at the time that bird live for a great many years after that, it just died a few years back and she's been really depressed since she lost her 16 yr old poodle a year later, nice dog I've ever met oddly enough.
One day I want a nice Parrot or a Macaw my dad in florida has got a couple of parrots I'm trying to talk him into breeding so I can have a baby but he doesnt want to because he doesn't want to try and find homes for the babies, and he doesn't need the money by any means so they're just pets for him :-/

I do not have birds but have worked with many macaws such as blue and golds. scarlets, green wings, severe and military macaws. Also did work with one timnah grey. The Congos, er, grays in general in my opinion are the most intelligent birds I have come across thus far. It's interesting how they will chose 1 person to be their companion and everyone else is crap, lol. It's even more interesting how they can distinguish guys from girls. I have met a few birds, that prefered men over women, coming in as rescues.
But man, those are some beatiful pictures everyone. If I have the devotion and patience to work with them everyday, as it is exactly like owning a 3 yr old, I would have a red fronted macaw. Actually if I could I would take the red fronted back after spending 3 months retraining it.
I like the timnah up there, just gorgious. :) All the birds are very pretty. Thanks for sharing.

they are green cheeks ,thay are all god at times the gray is my baby he is 3 years old on feb 17 i owned his mom and dad moved into a smaller place and had to sell a few off at one point i had 40 birds and babys thanks for the kind words
I've worked with a few birds. I'd decided to get myself a relatively small one.
I'd never planned on a lovebird (they were at the bottom of my list...) but the bird chose me. I wound up with Gozer, a black masked lovebird.
Gozer is really bloody smart, and reminds me of an amazon trapped in a little bird body. Fantastic pet (though he HATES my camera):

Has anyone ever worked with Black Capped Conures I am thinking about getting one?
Youkai,
Mind if I ask how gozer chose you?
What I love about birds is the personality and the affection they show to their chosen person. When I finnish school, and if I found I had the time to devote I would love to look into those larger (larger than a budgie ;) ) parrots. a friend of mine bought a baby african grey who is just adorable and sooo demanding of her " mommies" time.

I was planning on buying a bird from a breeder. Preferably, a lineolated parakeet (I do still want one). At the time, I was working at a pet store for the summer, trying to make a bit of money for the next semester's tuition.
The store I was at got in yet MORE lovebirds. There were already tons of peach faces no one would handle, and now these three new black masked ones. I didn't want to see these ones become untame, so I attempted to interact with them when I could. One of these was Gozer, who would just plaster himself to me. He bonded to me VERY quickly. He's very jealous though, which I do find somewhat troublesome. He hates men, especially my boyfriend. I'm trying to work on that...
He also hates my school work which takes up my time. If I've been using them too long(according to him), he will attempt to destroy my tablet, tablet stylus, animation 'peg bar', pens and pencils, and my mouse. For a small thing, he does a remarkably good job.

I helped out at the conservationhere in Victoria. They had two eclectus parrots they were very noisy. Male was nice female seemed to bite me any time I got near her. There was also a puna ibis that came on command and picked your shoes. Other birds were blue and gold, hycanithand Buffon's macaw, bou bou shrike, scarlet and sacred ibis, hawk headed parrots, flamingos, Major mitchell's cockatoos, red lories, great billed parrots, red creasted truaco, a green winged macaw, and tawny frogmouth probably forgot something although.

I love Lories. Have you seen the flock they have at the Toronto Zoo? rainbows are cool but I think the nicest are the chatering reds.

I love them as well, there are a few nice breeds. The colors on the pic just dont do mine justice though :) (bad camera) I have not been to the Toronto zoo in a long time maybe I should plan a trip out that way. Do you know anyone else that has a rainbow? I have been looking all over for one but with no luck.
Cheers,
Kim
Ps... all the birds here are very beautiful birds ...

Yes, it's ice. He loves to suck and chew on ice, but I think he mostly likes to throw it and make messes. :D
