I am thinking of ordering rodents from the US.
Do I need a permit of any kind to bring in FROZEN rodents? I tried getting informations from the agricultural department in vain.
I am waiting on an answer from them cause they "think" I do not need anything since it's not live. (I always like how they are the ones who put the restrictions, but never know what it involves).
Anyhow, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Michael
No restrictions whatsoever, but if you live in Montreal, why not order from a Canadian supplier? We've got plenty and the shipping/duties won't rip you a new pooper.

My problem is I need some rats. The only supplier I am able to get them from in Montreal (at a resonable price) doesn't always have the stock and is hard to reach.
I prefer to buy in bulk for the price. The only other suppliers that I have seen, that come close to the price I am paying, are in the US (even after the shipping and duties the price is still lower than the quotes I got).
If you guys know someone who can sell in bulk, I would gladly buy from a Cdn instead of the US.

We are located in Kingston Ontario :) and have thousands of Rats each month :)
Might I suggest that you post what you pay now, and the reputable Canadian rodent suppliers on this site can compare prices and possibly get back to you.
price and what you want always helps.

I do not feel comfortable posting the price I pay for my rodents online.
But I will post what I need
200 pinkie rats.
200 7 to 14 day old rats (100 7 days and 100 14 days)
150 28 day old rats (am not sure but think it's around 80 to 100 gram rats).
50 150 grams to 200 grams rats
150 to 200 pinkie mice.
Those are my needs, but I do not mind buying in bigger quantities to get a better price, I have bought 1000 of quantities before to get a better price.
But at the moment, the price I have isn't bad, I just have trouble getting in touch with the supplier and getting my orders delivered.

Man if I ever get to the point where I need that many my small breeding colony wont help me any, I find the shipping on frozen rodents to be way to expensive, if you could PM me with where you get supplied in the US I'd appreciate it I need to find some good deals.
