I have an 18 month old Iguana. She is in breeding season, and she won't lay her eggs. I have takin her to the vet and made a nesting box. What should I do?? Should I just wait or try something else??
Please help me!!!
Seems a little young to have eggs already. Did the vet tell you she was egg bound? Are you housing her with a male, or has she spent any time with a male? I have a almost four year old girl who is just starting to appear mature enough to produce eggs, but hasn't as of yet and has never spent any time with any other igs. I know they can and will produce infertile eggs without a male, it just seems to me that 18 months is way too young.

We have been to the vet and they said she has pre-natal eggs. Yeah, she is young and early so I was told. No she hasn't been around any males. She is currently taking calcium supplement and we have tried the nesting box. I just don't know what to do...

The eggs wont be fertile so when she lays them she lays them and they wont hatch. Will just collapse and dry up.

VI have you delt with many egg bound Iguanas?
This is a common problem in female Iggies. She will need to be taken to the vet to have the eggs removed surgically and then be given a hysterectomy so that the problem does not return. She is egg bound and too small\young to pass them and if they are not removed she will die.

VI, We have taken to her to the vet and the vet said we might have the eggs removed surgically. The vet said that some iguanas don't make it.. So I am running out of options..

As I said, she is egg bound and your vet is right she will die with out the operation. Normally runs about $300 to have the eggs removed and the tubs tied. I know of two keeps that have had it done so far. Once it's done you'll have a wonderful health pet for years to come and this is one problem you'll never have to worry about again.
Good luck,
Trevor
