You can leave the shell, it's an excellent calcium source
Would he actually eat the shell? Wouldnt it be hard to digest?

i saw it on a show once... killer instinct... he gave a monitor an egg... just regular.. not boiled, not de shelled.... just a regular egg... they swallow it hole to gain all the nturience.. wqhen you boil and remove the shell they loose some nutrieunce so its not as benifical...
now i dont know the first thing about monitors so take this as you will... but i do know that auzzie does know alot about herps

The monitor would need to be quite big to swallow it hole. Make sure hes not going to choke. Id personally stay away from them as you dont need them to keep him healthy and all it can do is cause problems.

Not all monitors will eat eggs whole and some will make a real mess out of it. Was the monitor on the show a lace monitor, by any chance? I give mine whole chicken eggs and they are very careful to swallow them without breakage.

Scrambled eggs are also possible. I fed them to my savannah monitor when It was 10". Make sure when you scramble them you dont use butter or oil.
