When you get the crestie bug, you get the crestie bug. I believe there are a few of us that should be going to crested gecko anonymous. I have 21. Everytime I purchase one, I say this is it, no more. Then, a blue eyed crestie comes along or a creamsicle or an awesome fire! The list goes on.
Awesome crestie collection.

21! Now that's impressive. What do you use rubbermaids?
Betty Miskie
01-17-05, 03:50 PM
I use rubbermaid for the babies (housed by clutchmates), aquariums (standing upright) for the bigger ones and I also have the breeding females in a big terrarium that was purchased from JD Terrariums. If I am bored this evening I will try and post a few pictures...........

Siretsap: We are just setting up a reptile room so I will post better pics when we are totally finished. As far as blue eyed cresties, creamsicles etc. those cresties are now on the wish list. I have yet to acquire those ones, however, I am pretty confident that by the end of this year, I will.
The crestie bug all started in Oct. 2003 when my son bought his first one, then I took over. It has been my addiction ever since.
How about the first crestie anonymous meeting at my house?

While I was cleaning out some of my crested tanks I placed a group in a box with shredded newspaper. When I opened the box an hour later my male creamsicle and my neon orange female were going at it! Their colours get so vibrant from the security of the box.

Okay. I'm going to explain something.
When someone posts a thread with pictures of their stuff/animals, following up with a reply like "look at me, I have this too" and posting pictures in said thread is referred to as 'hi-jacking' and is generally lame and frowned upon...
Just some netiquette.

Heather, it happens all over the site, even mods do it. Its not such a big deal...

Okay, I have a rebuttle to the previous post by Little_dragon.
From what I understand, the definition of "Netiquette":
etiquette governing communication on the Internet...
There is nothing wrong with sharing pics of something that one believes could be interesting to other users. It is a mere perception that a member of SSnakeSS who has a nice collection of geckos is a "Showoff". From the words of Little_dragon_ in the post, there was not any type of statement indicating that this person wanted others to be offended, to showoff or to think less of their own collections. Gecko Brothel enclosure pics are shown. How is this any different? I thought that forums were about sharing information, pictures and herp-addicts having a place to get together. From a moderator, using the term "netiquette", please help me figure this out...
would it not have been more friendly to send this member a PM or e-mail to let them know that their post could been perceived as a "one-uper"? No, instead you choose to embarrass not only the person who wrote the post, but anyone else who reads this thread. (I would have sent you a PM but that wouldn't help Little_dragon_ to know that there are people who enjoy his post.) Your opinion is not appreciated and far from appropriate, in my opinion. I expected more from a site that represents a not-so- common group of people, because it's not always easy to meet others in small communities with enough knowledge and experience with herps, especially Rhacodactylus. In my city, we have all of 3 stores that sell lives pets, and a few more pet food suppliers... that don't even carry reptile food or supplies.
That being said, I hope you understand that by drawing attention and assuming the intention of the post, you have cause myself and possibly other users to think of less of this site. And by the way, the pics are awesome, of everyone's rhacs and Little_dragon_'s pics will influence who I go to when I want to expand my collection further.
And please remember: "When we 'assume',
it makes an a-s-s out of u & m-e."

I didn't mean to offend anyone. I think Matt K has some real amazing geckos, I'd be at his show table in a second for cresteds when he has hatchlings. My intention for the post was to respond to Gecko Brothels interest in creamsicles. I just wanted to share the news that my new guys are breeding it won't be long before I'll have some for sale so you don't have to go through the currency exchange, wild life inspection fee, and shipping costs like I had to from the states. I don't know why you snapped on me Heather in the future I will only post pics in my threads. I noticed you never responded to my post when I introduced my new breeders perhaps you are a little jealous I have a creamsicle, but don't worry when I have hatchlings you won't have to pay as much as I had too. I am not a jerk and everyone who has met me, or purchased a gecko from me knows this. So I say " Good Day Sir".....I said good day!

Hey guys... Its not a big deal, yet I hear people upset about it often, and I've got complaints. I wrote it as a member, and I can have an opinion just as much as any of you. It was not even directed at little_dragon. However, if they wanted to show off their stuff, they could have started their own thread. This isn't about 'influencing your collection', its a freaking thread. Just an observation on mine (and other peoples) parts.
And, if I ever embarrassed the starter of this thread, he would kick my face in....or at least say something :D

I did not snap at you David, sorry if it came off that way. Just pointing something out. I don't care if 'everyone does it' either. I make a point to not do it, and it sucks when it happens to one of my threads...
I noticed you never responded to my post when I introduced my new breeders perhaps you are a little jealous I have a creamsicle
It's a NICE creamsicle. I'm happy for you, that you have one. Great attitiude. I did not know replying was required...

I tend to lash out when my back's against the wall. We're here for geckos right? I now realize posting a pic in another persons forum can offend them. In this case the post's direction changed rapidly and my intent was not to hijack or show off. I will work harder in the future for that A plus for Attitude :)

Wow, if you are referring to me for posting pics of my enclosures, I apologize. One post leads to another and another. I actually wondered when I posted if I should start another title but someone had asked in this thread if I would post pics so I thought 'hey, I can do that." Had I known I hurt someone(s) feelings, I sure wouldn't of. I will guarantee I will do less posting so that I don't offend anyone.
I actually was quite enjoying this thread as it was covering lots of information for everyone as anyone could tell by the amount of hits this one thread has received.
