I'm once again looking into buying a pair of baby BRB's and would like to hear of any experiences anyone has had with them good or bad and would like to know if anyone knew of any good care sheets for them. I've heard they are "difficult" to care for so I want to make sure I have everything I need to take care of them properly before I buy them. As for their purchase i'm still looking around for the best price and best quality, I think the cheapest i've seen is 200$, does anyone know of anyone selling them cheaper?? Must be nice CB's.
Thanks, Kyle Walkinshaw
You should be able to get a decent price for one at the next show (nov 17)

Thanks anyways, :)

I only got good experiences with my rainbows...
as far as they have their required humidity.. They are so great..
Linds's care sheet (http://www.ssnakess.com/caresheets/brb/brb.htm) is one of the good ones.. ;)

Thx for the link Mary, the care sheet was good :)
So how do you find the temperment of your rainbows? My only experience with Brazilians was a few years ago at my work, before I was working there I was hold a sub-adult (3-4 feet) around my shoulders and she was the sweetest thing, except one time she nailed me in the nose and then she was sold the next week. Though being bit in the face is not the best experience I still love them:)

They calm down dramatically at a year of age. But they have a hell of a feeding response as adults. The WILL get used to you feeding them and strike at everything that moves in a similar fashion (BIG females especially). Other than that though, they can be as trustworthy as a boa.
I own 3 brazilians right now, and I've never had a bad experience with mine. I did have one nip me after handling my mice and I could smell the scent on my hands too, so that was just dumb on my part. Otherwise, they are all nothing but friendly. As soon as you wake them up they are fast little buggers.
Good care sheets are everywhere! Of course you have already looked at linds, and you can find more information and some great pictures at this website http://www.corallus.com/cenchria/index.html
Your going to love your brazilians. Good luck, and if you have any specific questions about keeping humidity high or good ways to keep them happy, Ask us we will all be glad to help you.

Kyle,
my biggest male is the sweetest brb I got to handled,
he is relativly calm. he really likes to crawl all over me when I take him out...
My smallest one has his bad days, he tried couple of time to bite my boyfriend... :) Or maybe he just doesnt like him.. lol :P

Wow Mary -- I just LOVE that top guy -- his red is amazing! :) What a beauty... Personally, I prefer the reds to the oranges... I know that a lot of people are the other way though...
Kyle, I'm also looking into getting my first BRB... as far as prices go, $175 is the lowest I've seen, but they're usually $200-300, depending on the quality of their colouration... Who knows though, you might find a deal at the show :) I think that there's a show in Feb too, you could always have a look then....
Good luck :)

Mary...WOW!! that top pic is incredible!! Beautiful colours on that one, both of them actually, who did you get those from? Do you or anyone know of any BRB breeders in the Ontario or more specifically the Mississauga - GTA area with nicely coloured boas, with also good prices?? I was hoping to find a pair for 400$-475$ but I will pay more if the quality is there.
Thx everyone for your comments :)

The top one looks like it has more red but I guess its just the camera angle or lighting :P I am considering buying my pair of BRB's from Mike Vince in the next few weeks because he's pretty close. Has anyone bought from him before and would recommend him??
thx, :)

I've never dealt with him personally, but I think that there's a post on the CBI that I seem to remember being a favourable comment....
Good luck!
Mike Vince all the way!! he had a few left and they're nice, Mike is a great guy too, I'm going to get one as soon as I am ready.
