Excellent! Glad he's getting back in gear :-)

Too bad he looks ugly on that picture for some reason :-( His head almost looks like an axanthic pastel heh! Anyways, don't worry about the fancy pictures, let them do their thing :-)

Thanks for sharing!
Bristen.

Now THAT'S a good lookin' pic, regardless fo how bright that male is, the best part of the pic are those locked tails. Good luck you two. Keep him comin'...

I meant to put him in her cage Sunday night but fell asleep and didn't get it done so I put him in Monday morning before leaving for work. The pic posted above was posted with in about 30 minutes of taking it. When I check on them this morning they were still locked up. I'm happy to see that because it means at the very least they've been paired up for about 12 hours.
If they're finished tonight when I get home I'll take him out offer him a small meal and then give him a days rest and then it's on to the second female.
Do you guys give a day break between females or do you just go from cage to cage?
Thanks,
Trevor

Right on Trevor. Myself I think I'd just go cage to cage without the meals and breaks in between. Keep his mind on the mating track as opposed to feeding. Good luck with the odds gods!

Trevor good luck with him man.I would give him a break and feeding between as he will need the food for energy.

Now Trevor there are people here like Markus,Jeff.mykee and others that could maybe give more detaled info;).

I throw my males in with each female for 3 or 4 days. After the second female I take him out and feed him if he will eat and give him a day or so rest.

Now thats just me.Others may do it a little different.

I wish you luck this year bro ;)

I will leave a male in with a female for two days, longer if when I go in to remove him he's locked up. After two days, I jsut move him to female 2 and so on. I go through 4 or maybe 5 females (10-14 days) without a break for the male, then he comes out, gets fed, has a two-day break and then starts all over again.

Mykee, do your males eat during the "breaks"?? My pastel really did not have any interest in food even though I offered him food on a few occasions.. as soon as I started cooling, he stopped eating. I'm at work and don't have my records here, but I don't know if he ate more than once since I started cooling.. I assumed this to be normal, but would of liked to see him have a meal or two before the winter is over....

Thanks,
Bristen.

My males don't feed from October to April for the most part. No breaks. Its not like they are doing cardio or anything. Just keep flipping him around to new females all winter/spring long. Honestly, if you move him every 2 days, try to feed him, move him back, etc etc, you'll be doing more damage than good. They are insane breeders and it takes nothing to get them to lock up. Just make sure he's healthy and muscular going in to cycling and you'll be ok until spring.

I was thinking I would be giving his testies a chance to recharge by giving him a break. I think I'll just do what I did last year which is what mykee described. Wait till he's unlocked or two days what ever comes first and then when he's had all 6 I'll offer food give him a day or two and start over.
Cheers,
Trevor

Exactly Trev. If they go 2-3 consecutive days without breeding, move him on. I do that with pretty much ALL my male snake. Pythons, Boas, colubrids, whatever. That's standard procedure.

As for food, I don't bother, but it certainly won't hurt. Not by any means.
