Hey, I have a 6 foot male guyana and a 4 foot female boa and was intrested in keeping them in the same tank. Is this a wise decision?? The tank is more then big enough and i don't see any problems in keeping them together. Also I've been studying up on breeding and am intrested in starting this year. Will they breed??

Thanks
Terry

Not a good place to talk about intentionally further poluting the boa constrictor gene pool. I would keep them separate and find respective mates then try breeding, after learning as much as possible first!

First off dont keep them in the same tank, it just isnt worth it man. What happens when one gets sick? Well they will both get sick. See where i am going with this. There are many threads on this site where people have asked the same question, do a quick search, and you will see a ton of reasons why not to do this.

And i wouldnt attempt to breed your female yet as she is way to small. She should be at least 3-4 years old and 6+ feet.

I would not keep any snakes together unless breeding. And I would also wait till that female is at least 3 yrs old and 6ft.

As for BCI's and Guyana's, I know a few breeders in the US that are working with 50%BCI-50%Guyanan babies that are 100% Het albinos in hopes that these will be a key to producing the first Albino Boas with a purple coraling.

They are also 2 different species. The guyana is a bcc and the colombian is a bci. If u bred them, U would get mutts which are not very desired.

Breeding the bcc and the bci is not my main goal. I'm new and very excited about starting to breed this year. I know that I would get mutts and that dos'nt appeal to me at all. But I plan on making snakes a huge part of my life, I am eager to start the process.
I will not breed them anymore and I am searching for a breedable size Female guyana.

Thanks
Terry

Good luck with your search...
However, as stated above there's still no good reason to keep them in the same tank...(343095743975 reasons NOT to though...like if one gets sick they both do, stress, if one poops you don't know whose it is, and possibly, accidental breeding.)
