View Full Version : BABY GECKO-paper mache
im a little new at this and im just need some advice. i need to build a ramp to the water dish. i was just wondering if paper mache would be a good idea or not. if u have any better ideas let me no. im not to sure if my gecko can get in the water dish because the dish sits about 2 inches off the ground and the walls are straight up and down im not sure if the gecko can get in the dish. long story short is paper mache a good idea

Hey there. You could use a piece of flat bark:) I wouldn't recommend paper mache unless you seal it very well with a non-toxic, waterproof paint. Otherwise your geckos little wet toes will ruin it! You could also use a very flat rock about half the height of the dish, creating a stair up to the dish.

do you have a substrate... if so just buyyr the dish a little... if not you can use a lid off something... but if you really wanna keep the dish your useing... i used tile to build a ramp to my humid hidde.... if its a baby id just suggest getting a smaller dish for now... walmart has these little clay dishes that are like 80cents... there just outside the plant section... ive seen pet stores selling these same dishes for like 8 bucks.....
i wouldnt suggest useing paper mashe cause of all the glue... its most likely toxic... and the littleist bit of water/ moisture would certianly make it run...
Glad to hear you on the list.
