I think most people use the 4" and 11" heat tape..
But it also depends on what they are using it on.
For me i use the 4" on my racks, and i use the 11" on my bigger enclosures, like my 4 foot cages.

I use 3", 4" and 11".
I had 4" and 11" in use, but now I exclusively use 4" for everything.

I dont use it much but id use 11 and 4 as well. Right now im only using 11 and its great for racks imo that are heated from the back. It covers two sections with 2 feet positioned horizontally.
If you're heating the rack from underneath id use 4 inch since its cheeper and you are going to need more.
my 0.02 :)

Just 11 inch. Nothing else.
thanks for the replies.
Is 4 inch, alot more efficient than 3 inch?

3" is 10 watts per foot, and 4" is 8 watts per foot.
I would say 4" is the best bet out of the two.

I use 3" on my smaller cages and 10 gallons. Then 11" on the boaphiles and larger cages...
