Are we nerds?

My brother asked me if I think I am a nerd b/c I come on these forums and chat about herps when ever I am on the net, I don't care if I am b/c I am doing what I enjoy :) He asked me this b/c he plays against people in little arcade games over the let against people, and he asked them if he is a nerd by playing games all of the time and they said yes.

Just to give you an idea of how much he plays is that he is 96 out of thousands of people on that game.

Hmmm no I'm not a nerd just a hopelessly addicted herpaholic lol. But I guess if you spend 80% of your time and money on your reptiles, crave for the latest reptiles magazine,have family members that won't even talk to you any more because of your hobby and friends that won't talk to you anymore because you tried to show them how great snakes are then yes I'm a nerd and proud of it.:D

Manitoban - I dont know about myself because I spend about 7 hours sitting on the computer most of the time and I just talk on here and maybe play a game sometimes. BTW, keep dreaming about the 10 million albinos and piebalds a day being born because at the rate they would be hmmmmmmm, worth 1 dollar...... and you would need trillions of female and male snakes! Where would you keep them all? You would need 100 warehouses top to bottom full of rubbermaids and racks.

I think it all depends, IM I considered A nerd if dont play in the football but play video games. Am I a nerd if I dont dress the same as some people or listen to the same music as them. I think every one is a nerd. Youmight think one group of people are nerds and there sitting there thinking the exact same as you. Just my 2 cent

I don't think being a nerd makes me more of an idividual then a person who likes mainstreem things. It's just a matter of choice, whos to say that all these trendy "cool" people don't actually really enjoy the things that they do. The things I do, the things all of us do make us almost the stereo type, but for me I could care less, I happy and at the end of the day no matter how I'm seen by anyone else that's what matters.

It's not that being a nerd makes you an individual... it's about being able to express yourself as an individual whether or not it makes you a nerd. Anyone unable to express themselves outside of the social majority would have a hard time differentiating themselves, nerd or not.
