Weezer Ball Python

I just bought a 4' female ball python that has a weeze... she seems healthy in all other respects .... when my other BP's weeze its gennerally a sign of a respiratory infection but they also drop clear fluid from their mouths which this one isn't doing .... anyway for now I put her in a little warmer enclosure and am keeping an eye on her .... lookin' for ideas

Where did you get you new girl?

As with all new animals... quarantine it. Keep it in a separate room from all the others and raise the temps a bit and drop the humidity. Watch her closely like you said you would and see how it goes.

Got her from some locals that had her as a pet ..... she is quarantined and got the heat up to bout 91 seems to be feeling alright ... ate a jumbo mouse but only 1 ... maybe I worry a bit to much ... thank you for your help

Is the 91° temp directly under the basking lamp or is it the hot side temps?

91° is too hot for a ball, drop the temps back down to around 88° on the hot side and take the humidity levels down to around 50% for a few days and see how that works for you guy.

Why drop the humidity? Wouldn't you want to increase it? Or would it increase snot?

With an RI you would want to reduce the humidity so as to not break up the infection too fast and cause the snake to choke on it's on mucous. Brief periods of high humidity such as a shower or a warm soak are good and do help to clear it out. The high humidity periods do need to be kept short though.... 10 or 15 minutes at a time.
