For lighting or heat? I used one with a pair of everglades ratsnakes. Very cool to see them climb. Use something to space the bulb a little bit away from the mesh. It is pretty heat resistant but should never come in direst contact with the bulb. I used a two foot hooded lighton it. I used two 1 x1 's over the cage so it wouldn't sag in the middle and put my light in between them. I used another small heat source on the floor of the cage a heat panel between to large tiles works well. If you care to mount wood in the cage you can use rubber hose clamps. They are bendy metal and have a rubber liner around them. I screwed one end into the wood and hooked the other end over the frame. It works well and the snakes have a jungle gym. To clean them you just unhook and wash them. If you don't have the plastic liner go buy one. They are worth it. Have fun! TB

are you planning on keeping him in there on a permanent basis or just occationally? The mesh screen cages do not work as a permanent home indoors for BDs. They will not hold heat, impossible to control humidity, and if you feed crix, they will eat through the mesh in due time. Flooring/substrate is whole other problem.
