Im hooked

Well it looks like ive got the invert bug. Or really the scorp bug lol. I got a striped texas, or striped scorpion. Not sure on the exact common name, but ill have to get the scientific name, I dont remember now. Hes VERY small right now, but nice a plump.

Im going to change the substrate to sand today. Im using very dried out eco earth for now. Sand is suitable correct? I was told it was, but id like to make sure.

No what you have it on is good. These scorps are bark scorps. Found in wood piles logs and houses. You can usually find a large number in the same log. I used a ESU cricket pillow and they would climb right on top of it. I would also spray the tank every couple of days. Enjoy they are one of the more active scorps. The latin is Centruroides vittatus. Enjoy. TB

damn straight ur hooked;) tim and julie do u have any urself? how often do they molt at that size? that thing is around a size of a dime (the whole span), so they are not desert scorps huh? they like it humid? interesting, if u gave a little more on the care or sent a caresheet id appreciate it and so wud bartman(he got the scorp thru me, i got it for him thru another guy, i myself m not big in scorps and only have emperors). thank u

So im keeping him on the eco earth, should I moisten it? how moist should it feel to the touch. I have a few leaves for him to hide under and im trying to keep him at around 82..to low, to high?


And theres no way I could use sand? Thats one of the main reasons I picked this guy up.

Well it looks like im actually NOT going to be giving him back. I figured ive already got him so why not just keep him :) Hes very cool and at a 1/4 cricket today. These guys eat like mad!

You should keep it they are very interesting. Yes I had 5 at one point. If you want to know about scorps you go to Scorpion Files. :D Here is a care sheet, they don't need that much humidity.
