:D3 arcadia" well i know its a tube but what is it... like a plant light... whered you get it..
You really need to check the output ratings of the lamp. Plant lights are designed for plants. They are usually very high in the blue and red output. The only UV usually put out is UVa.
Alot of times you will see full spectrum or balanced spectrum on the package. This is true if you are working with plants.
The best light on the market that has been truely tested with Chams is still the Reptisun 5.0. The 8.0 and 10.0 provide way to much UV for Chams. I can't remember the link off hand that showed the graph comparing the differant bulbs.

there is also a article on UV here http://www.chameleonnews.com/lighting1.html there is a second dpart to it witch will hopfully be out in the next issue. just to add some more info
I would sudgest that you can still use a plant light if you have live plants in your habitat. But your still going to need the 5.0 bulb. The better the lighting the happier your chameleon is going to be. Yea the 8.0 is for desert reptiles and iguanas

ok... well my 8.0 needs to be changed soon so the output should be low enough for a few more days...
