View Full Version : Damn..
My female viper gecko pased away. I am so angry.... She used to eat SOOO much more then the male...Then it seemed to switch... She ate 1, and he ate 9.... i separated them to see if it was him bugging her... Then the next morning... she was dead...I have no clue why either. She was getting a thin tail at the end, but why??
thanks

Sorry to hear about your loss. There could be so many reasons for it, but it's really hard to elaborate on without more information. Anyway, I have a friend/partner that I work with. They have a juvenile Viper Gecko that may be sexable now(as well as an adult breeding group), and some eggs cooking in the incubator. So if sometime in the future you need to replace her, and are having problems finding a female, let me know. I'm just down the road in East Van, and shipping could get expensive. Although, there is a good chance that you might be able to find a female in a local pet store.
Again, sorry to hear of your loss. Hope you get it all sorted out soon.

So sorry about that. I hate to lose any animal. It may very well be that she had some kind of parasite that eventually she succumbed to. It's very common to have geckos get parasites from crickets. They are dirty little buggers. It forces the gecko to use their excess fat storage because they can't get enough nutrition from their normal diets, as the parasite takes so much. Again, so sorry, but hopefully you'll get more and continue to work with them.
