Places to visit?

Well me and my gf are going to Miami on Sunday for about a week.

We will be staying at the Penguin Hotel.

I was wondering if anyone knows of herping spots in that area? We won't have a car, so it will either have to be by walk or bus.

I know we will go visit the Glades on the following Wednesday, but besides that, I would like to get to see a few of the other reptiles Miami has (not the anoles that are all over the hotels) ;-)

The outskirts/country of the city are the best spots, as they would be where you live. You could hop on a bus and go anywhere north of Miami or south into the edge of the Florida Keys and look near the semi-swamps depends what you want to find even if this is not the best time/season ...lots of Dusky Pygmy Rattlers(near telephone pole clearings) and Colubrids...in town look in the yellow pages and go to a herp store they are alot different from anything in T.O or Montreal
P.S. Miami is a big wide city and UNSAFE place to be walking around in...so talk to someone first..
